Trial evidence

Bowl feeder trial videos and what they prove

Trial videos are useful evidence when they show the part, the required orientation, the discharge route and the limits of the test. They do not replace sample assessment, drawings or acceptance criteria.

Video evidence

Use trial video as evidence, not a finished specification

A short feeder video can show whether parts circulate, orient and discharge in a controlled way. It should also make clear what has not yet been proven, such as sustained production duty, integration signals, guarding, final line height or multi-format changeover.

Vibratory bowl feeder close-up

This asset is useful for discussing how parts move around the bowl and how tooling influences orientation before discharge. It should be interpreted with the part sample, outlet requirement and target interface.

Crown cap sorting video

This asset is useful when the buying question is whether a closure can be consistently presented to a capping process. Final suitability still depends on cap samples, capper interface and control logic.

What to ask for in a useful trial video

Trial-video evidence checklist
Evidence pointWhy it mattersWhat to clarify before ordering
Representative partsParts from only one ideal batch may not show mould, supplier, surface or dimensional variation.Confirm which samples were used and whether all required variants were included.
Correct outlet orientationA feeder can move parts without presenting them in the exact orientation required by the downstream machine.Define the accepted presentation face, lead edge, discharge side and whether a single part must be released.
Recirculation behaviourRejected parts should return to the bowl without creating jams, damage or excessive repeated circulation.Ask what happens to wrongly oriented parts and what fault condition stops the feeder.
Handover conditionThe video may show bowl discharge rather than the final chute, escapement or capper infeed.Confirm height, chute angle, sensors, accumulation and receiving-machine signal before sign-off.

Questions buyers ask about feeder videos

Does a successful short video prove the final production rate?

No. A short bowl feeder video is useful evidence of movement and orientation, but final output depends on the part, tooling, hopper supply, controls, downstream demand and acceptance test duration.

Should the trial video show rejected parts?

Yes, where rejection is part of the design. A useful video should show how incorrectly oriented parts are removed from the track and returned without relying on manual intervention.

Can Lancing use my existing phone video?

Yes. A phone video of the current manual loading point, downstream machine and problem parts can help scope the trial, especially when it shows the actual handover height and line stoppage behaviour.

What should be written beside the video?

The description should name the sample used, target orientation, downstream machine, test condition and any limitations. Without that context, the video may be attractive but incomplete as engineering evidence.

Need this checked against your part?

Send samples, drawings, target output, discharge height and the downstream machine details. Lancing can confirm the practical feeder route from the real application.
