Bowl feeder factory acceptance test checklist

Define what will be demonstrated before delivery so feeder acceptance is based on agreed evidence.

Engineering selection

A useful FAT checks the complete feeding sequence, not only whether parts move around the bowl.

Factory acceptance testing should use agreed production samples and a written test method. The test should cover refill, orientation, incorrect-part rejection, recirculation, discharge, sensors, controls and the interface assumptions for the downstream machine.

Build the decision around representative samples and the complete handover

Provide real production components, the required exit orientation, target demand profile, discharge height, available footprint and details of the downstream machine. Suitability and any performance commitment should be confirmed by an agreed sample trial under defined conditions.

Define the component

Record dimensions, weight, material, surface finish, variation, defects, contamination and any tendency to tangle or nest.

Define the presentation

Specify the accepted attitude, spacing, singulation, discharge datum, chute direction, escapement and sensor confirmation.

Define acceptance

Agree samples, test duration, demand sequence, reject handling, refill conditions and the evidence required before delivery.

How long should a FAT run?

Use an agreed simulation of demand and handover, and record which final integration checks remain for site acceptance.
